ABOUT RANJANA SARKAR

Ranjana, a Talented Exponent, initially Learnt Kathak Dance from The Great Gurus at Different Places, later on, she gleamed with Advance Training under Great Maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj Ji at Kathak Kendra - an outstanding Institute of Kathak dance at Bahawalpur House, Bhagwan Das Road, New Delhi.

As early as, since 1985 Ranjana has been performing extensively within the country. A few of them includes:

Not only this, but she has performed widely all over the world thus to disseminate Indian Tradition Culture and Heritage through intricate dance - Kathak among them a few are as:

Ranjana Sarkar became an Empanelled Artist by Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Government of India. The Government of India has sent her for three years as a Kathak 'Teacher cum performer' in Uzbekistan 2006 to 2009 to serve the Nation.

Her Solo performances in Tashkent, Armenia, Malayia, England, South Africa, Bangladesh, France, Singapore, Dubai, Iceland, China etc were widely appreciated.

She has also been awarded by Fellowship Award from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. New Delhi in 2002.

Ranjana is dedicated to Kathak, also accomplished other musical instruments like playing Tabla, Pakhwaj, Mridanga, Cango, Harmonium etc. and she is a Classical singer as well. She has been honoured by various Voluntary and Public Organizations.

She is also founder of 'NUPUR KALASHRAM" a cultural organisation with a motto of 'Teaching & Training Kathak Dance'. This organization provides formal education to children of all communities irrespective of their caste, creed and religion, thus to prepare and develop their personality matured with cultural, moral, spiritual and intellectual ethos.

She has vivacity, elegance, flair for rhythm and aesthetics, nourished in movements fiercely, an independent mind gives her adelightful appeal.

She is the combination of various role performer as Director, Choreographer, Teacher as well as a Scholar.
